Transitional dressing

This time of year is a nightmare. As soon as we pack away all our summer dresses, we have a mini heatwave and we have to dig them all out again. It’s that transitional period between seasons when it’s not hot and it’s not cold and we have to try and work out what the hell to wear!

I always think layering is paramount so that if you do get hotter throughout the day, you can always strip off a layer. Sometimes when you leave the house in the morning it’s a bit nippy, only to return hours later and it’s sweltering again!

So I have shown a few different options to take you through this difficult period. The dresses I’ve shown are this season, but you can easily wear your summer dresses and wear a turtleneck underneath or throw on a blazer and add ankle boots to bring it into this season. Light coats like shackets and trench coats are great for this period, not as heavy as a winter coat but warm enough for crisp mornings or a rainy school run.

This is definitely the time to dig out your blazers too. Wear with jeans, skirts, dresses and trousers. If you can stretch your budget to a leather one, that will last you for years to come and is a great way to elevate your look.

As always i’ve linked the items below the slides if you want to purchase.
