Shirts and how to wear them

Shirts have become a staple over the last few years. They’re not just for work anymore. Especially the oversized look and the gorgeous simple linen styles we’re seeing everywhere this season. The reason is they go with everything. They’re a throw on piece that you don’t have to think about when getting dressed. An easy to wear item that you can dress up or down whatever your mood.

Wear tucked into jeans or loose over a pair of wide leg trousers. Wear undone over a swimsuit on holiday or over a strappy dress to give a bit of coverage. Wear with linen Bermuda shorts or short denim cut offs. Wear with smart trousers and heels on a night out. Or just slobbing around at home with sweatpants.

Last year I would have worn mine buttoned up to the neck but now I like to wear open to show a bit of décolletage and team with lots of layered necklaces and maybe if i’m feeling daring, a hint of a pretty bra. I love the knitted bras on the high street right now. Have a look at slide 3 for a great Mango option.

I’ve shown 11 different shirts to suit all budgets and given ideas of how you can style them up. My tip is to go up a size if the style isn’t already oversized, to give you that relaxed French look. A tighter shirt is best left for the office!
