Get The Look -Jenna Coleman from The Serpent

If you haven’t seen The Serpent yet, it’s a BBC show based on the crimes of serial killer Charles Sobhraj. Now, you may think it’s a strange subject to do a Get the Look on. But it’s set in the 70s and the outfits that Jenna Coleman wears, who plays Charles’ love interest, are sublime. Think 70s prints, flares, headscarves and supersize glasses. In fact the costume designer Rachel Walsh took inspiration from Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger and Francoise Hardy to get her look spot on.

It’s worth watching the show for the wardrobe alone and as the series takes you from Thailand, Nepal and India then on to Paris, the outfits evolve until she’s in sharp tailoring.

I’ve taken a few of her outfits and been inspired to find similar pieces. If you love the look but don’t want to go full on seventies, then you can always just add a headscarf or neckscarf or a pair of retro sunglasses. Clogs are going to be huge next season, so get ahead of the trend by adding a pair of clogs to a slightly flared pair of jeans and oversized sunnies for a super chic take on Jenna’s look.
