Chunky Boots

Who would have thought this trend would have stayed around for so long. My husband is definitely not a fan, but I have to say I do love a chunky boot. And whether it’s going down the goth vibe or not, who cares! I think everything is having a bit of a merging moment right now so why can’t we mix a bit of goth with preppy with 90’s style and whatever else takes our fancy!

It’s definitely a trend that needs to be considered though, especially for those of us in our 40’s. And I say that with caution as I do believe we can wear whatever we want whatever age we are. But, I know some people are worried about this trend and fearful that when worn with the wrong thing they might look a bit silly.

So, I have put together some outfits to give you a few ideas of how these boots can look FIERCE! Keep other pieces grown up and smart, like blazers and wrap coats. Go luxe with leather and cashmere. Or wear with dresses and two-pieces to keep it feminine. They look great with so many things and are so comfy, so great for school run, nipping into town or even dog walks.

Almost every store has a version of the chunky boot in at the moment so whether your budget is £30 or £1,000, you’ll be able to find something for you. What I would say though, if you are on the fence is to go for a more slender style with less of a platform which will still give you the look but less in your face chunk! I have added in some less chunkier versions at the bottom of the post for those wanting less of a statement.
