‘Get The Look’ Sex & the City
Love it or hate it, there’s no denying the fact that Sex & the City is a fashion extravaganza. Carrie and the girls living their best NY life dressed like they’ve been let loose in Vogues fashion cupboard (oh the dream!) I always skirted the issue how Carrie, on a modest writers salary, could afford the wardrobe of every girls dreams - but like the girl said herself… “I want my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet!”
So, with the launch of the new series ‘And Just Like That’, I thought it only fitting that I create a ‘Get the Look’ of our four girls. I have been re-watching past series over the last few months and it’s easy to see what trends have come back round again. The tight form dresses, satin slips, barely there sandals, tulle skirts and blazers. Not to mention Miranda’s amazing androgynous style. I have loved reliving all the iconic outfits from all 4 girls. I think I flit between Carrie and Miranda. How about you?
I have put together a selection of pieces that I think reflect the girls style. I could have gone on for days as there has been so many amazing outfit styles over the seasons. But I had to stop somewhere!
While watching the new series, I love how the stylists have remained true to the girls original style. Carrie is still quite eclectic, Charlotte the ever prim and proper one and Miranda has her cool edgy style. I just wish Samantha was still in it.
