Capsule wardrobe for colour lovers
There’s a lot of talk about capsule wardrobes and how important they are in creating a streamlined wardrobe full of pieces you love that can be worn time and time again.
But when we talk about capsule wardrobes, we often see lots of black, beige, white and navy and thee’s nothing wrong with that.
But what if you wouldn’t be seen dead in beige. Or if black to you is dreary and boring! What if you love all the colours of the rainbow and want to shine bright in yellows, oranges, reds, pinks and blues.
Does that mean a capsule wardrobe isn’t for you?
Absolutely not!
A capsule wardrobe just basically means a collection of pieces that fit in to your wardrobe seamlessly. Items you pull out again and again and that mix and match with other pieces in your wardrobe. These generally are trend-less so that they work season after season, but this doesn’t have to mean all colour is drained out.
A capsule wardrobe can be different for everybody, but the principles remain the same. Interchangeable pieces that work together in different ways. That compliment each other.
If you love print, then you may have a few capsule pieces that you get out again and again with other plain pieces like a simple tee, a classic coat and great knitwear. If you love colour, then you can absolutely mix and match those colours to create a glorious technicolour outfit, as long as those pieces compliment each other, then there doesn’t have to be any navy and beige in sight!
I have created a little capsule wardrobe for the colour lovers out there. All items can be worn multiple ways. I have included a rogue grey tee in there as some people may want to include a few basic pieces in grey/white or black to bring some of the outfits together, but this isn’t essential. You can create a capsule wardrobe just out of primary colours - if that is your bag.
Once you have some great pieces that you can wear in multiple ways, then you can add a few trend pieces that update your wardrobe each season. Then add in your accessories and you have a wardrobe that works but crucially it’s a wardrobe that is quintessentially YOU!
